'Beavis And Butthead' Targets 'Jersey Shore'
Despite the fact that my brother's incessant Beavis and Butthead impressions had me seriously thinking about fratricide back in the '90s, I find myself ready to revisit the tittering twosome. Why? Everyone who attended the Comic-Con panel had great things to say about the footage screened, but mostly because Beavis and Butthead will be providing commentary over MTV's reality shows like "Jersey Shore" and "Teen Mom." MTV News caught up with creator Mike Judge at the Con to find out what the boys have been up to after all this time, and what fans can expect from the new episodes. "Well basically they're exactly the same," Judge admitted. "The world's changed, they're still on the couch working at Burger World, but they have some other jobs they dabble in. There's a tech support episode, but they're going to be watching 'Jersey Shore,' '16 And Pregnant,' UFC fights and some videos too. It's actually been a lot of fun having them watch [those shows]." Fun for Judge, extremely funny for us. For example, in the first of the new episodes, Beavis and Butthead are watching an episode of "Jersey Shore" wherein the cast members are making a hookup tree. Butthead's insight is amazing: This is like a family tree if your family was made of whores," he says with his famous "Huh huh" laugh. "If they like did this chart long enough, they could find out where herpes began." Judge explained that it was a natural evolution for the show, since back then the TV that they were watching was MTV. "They're watching MTV now and [the reality shows] are what's on MTV," he said. "When I got a sense of what people wanted to see, they do want to see them commenting on stuff that's out there now, and I feel like that's turned into pay dirt." "I started watching 'Jersey Shore' and couldn't stop," Judge confessed. "My daughters watch it and that's been really fun actually, I feel like it's good fit, it all makes sense." What do you think of the new Beavis and Butthead? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter!
