Fox originals top Wednesday

Fox's 'X Factor' averaged 11.1 million viewers Wednesday.Opposite mostly repeats on the competition Wednesday night, Fox's music talent competition ''The X Factor'' and new comedy ''I Hate My Teenage Daughter'' prevailed among young adults, with the latter rising week to week.According to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, ''The X Factor'' averaged a 3.3 rating/10 share in adults 18-49 and 11.1 million viewers overall from 8 to 9:30 p.m. , merely on par with last week even though it didn't face CBS' ''Survivor'' this time; the show's finale airs tonight. And at 9:30, ''I Hate My Teenage Daughter'' (first-place 2.1/6 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) was up some from last week when it faced an original ''Criminal Minds'' on CBS and a Barbara Walters special on ABC.As often happens at times of repeats for the Big Four, Univision rated well with its original telenovelas. The Spanish-language network, led by ''La Fuerza del Destino (The Strength of Destiny)'' (1.9/5 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall), ran second for the night in 18-49.ABC aired repeats of comedies ''The Middle'' (1.4/5 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall), ''Suburgatory'' (1.5/5 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall), ''Modern Family'' (2.2/6 in 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall) and ''Happy Endings'' (1.4/4 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall), followed by the soap ''Revenge'' (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall), which doesn't figure to repeat well. ''Modern Family'' was the night's No. 1 scripted show among the 18-49 crowd. At CBS, its annual adoption special ''A Home for the Holidays'' (0.8/2 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall) was up a bit year to year, and was followed by repeats of ''Criminal Minds'' (1.5/4 in 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall) and ''CSI'' (1.6/4 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall); ''CSI'' led the broadcasters in 18-49, though it may have been topped by FX's ''American Horror Story,'' which wrapped its season Wednesday.NBC's four-night gameshow event ''Who's Still Standing'' (1.7/5 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) was down from Tuesday, placing second to ''X Factor'' in the 8 o'clock hour but performing much better than the repeat comedies the net aired in the timeslot last week. Finishing out the night were the low-rated repeat special ''A Michael Buble Christmas'' (1.0/3 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall) and an encore of ''Law and Order: SVU'' (1.0/3 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall).Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: Fox, 3.0/9; Univision, 1.5/4; ABC, 1.4/4; CBS, 1.3/4; NBC, 1.2/4; CW, 0.3/1.In total viewers: Fox, 9.8 million; CBS, 6.1 million; NBC, 4.7 million; ABC, 4.5 million; Univision, 3.6 million; CW, 0.8 million.
